He Walked Out of History (1832)
Posted in Seeking Sanctuary (1832-1838) by D Marriott at 5:08 am |

His name was Jesse Gause and on March 8th, 1832, according to the Kirtland Revelation Book, he was called as a counselor to the Prophet Joseph in the presidency. A week later Joseph received a revelation confirming Jesse in this work. For an unknown reason, Jess’s name in the Revelation Book has been crossed out and that of Frederick G. Williams substituted. Published copies of the revelation (Section 81) also name Williams as the individual to whom the revelation was directed. What happened to Brother Gause? On August 1 of that same year he started east with Zebedee Coltrin, but Zebedee became ill and turned back. Gause continued his journey and simply walked out of history.
